Partnering with Midwives and Doulas
We are happy to partner with midwives and doulas whether they are assisting with homebirths, in birthing centers, or in hospitals. We respect the decisions of our birthing Moms to deliver in a way that works best for them. If you are midwife or doula that would like more information or to be trained in how to collect the cord blood after the birth, please contact our office and we will help you in any way possible.
There are many misunderstandings about cord blood collection. One that seems to be important to midwives and doulas is that the collection of cord blood does not interfere with the bonding process and it can be done once the cord has stopped pulsing. Obviously the goal is to collect enough cord blood for a viable sample but often we can accomplish both goals working together.
